Grumph.

Things that I have eaten this week include, in an even assortment of homemade and store-bought:

  • Pizza
  • Oatmeal cherry chocolate chip cookies
  • Cherry chocolate chip ice cream
  • The previous two combined into the best damn sundae ever
  • Enchiladas
  • Gingery Caribbean beans
  • Chocolate chocolate chip cookies with walnuts
  • Burritos too numerous to count
  • Miso soup
  • An array of exciting yogurts and breakfast cereals
  • Crappy ravioli from Whole Foods, containing a probably delicious mushroom and vegetable filling which was cruelly and inexplicably drowned in black pepper, resulting, of course, in a disgusting end product.

One of these things is not like the others. One of these things came in an earth-friendly package with I think a picture of the moon on it, giving rise to the following rule: if the packaging has a cutesy drawing on it instead of an enticing photograph of the delicious food product contained therein, place it back on the shelf and go buy something made by people who understand that food is supposed to be good.

This message has been brought to you by your local cranky foodie and her freezer full of blintzes and chocolate turtle ice cream. Have you had your dessert today?

Where does it all go, Dianna!? Do you have a second ass you keep in your backpack?

Posted by: jason s at June 22, 2005 07:45 AM

Yeah, I do. I take it out when I need it, then put it back away when I'm done with it.

One might say that I pack that ass up.

*snort* Half-pint. Sheesh. Get back to your coding, you.

Are the oatmeal cherry chocolate chip cookies made by the same criminals who brought us the double chocolate coffee toffee cookies? Because the sight of those at New Leaf still gives me a blinding headache.

In hopefully unrelated news, I'll see you Friday, yes?

Posted by: katie at June 22, 2005 11:39 AM

Nooo no no. The oatmeal cherry chocolate chip cookies, and the chocolate chocolate chip with walnuts, are homemade. I was, uh, testing the new mixer. Yeah.

But, I mean, if you don't want to try my delicious homemade cookies, then yes, your arrival on Friday will be unrelated. I won't leave a plate of them on the Ekeskog for you or anything. In fact, since I'll probably be home before you roll into town, I'll make sure to have just barely finished them before you get here.

Doh! This will teach me to keep my big mouth shut where cookies are involved. If you wipe all traces of cookies out of the house by the time I get there, I'll just have to make sad puppy faces until you come up with a new test recipe for the mixer. Because puppies need cookies too.
By the way, in case you're wondering, Sonoma State looks pretty much like a more rural CSUN.

Peanut butter cranberry cinnamon? The double chocolate ones are already gone except for a bunch of cookie dough, which has almost the exact consistency and taste of rocky road ice cream and will therefore not last long.

Have you given your talk yet? You have, right? You were the first speaker at the first annual conference of whatsit? How did it go???
